Alpine rentals in Australia 

Travelling in any Alpine Resort during the gazzetted snow season, or in any other area under conditions where a reasonable person would use snow chains, is a Full Responsibility Use Area (refer to the Rental Restrictions section in the Qualifications and Requirements using the locations listed below). Hertz offer “SNO Cover” at selected locations (listed below) for customers travelling to these areas under specific conditions.
 
These conditions are:

• The vehicle rented must be a Group D, E, F, S and U.  (Ford Falcon, Ford Territory, Ford Fairland, Toyota Camry and Ford Falcon with Sat Nav) Damage caused as a result of the fitting of snow chains and/or ski racks is deemed negligence and full recovery will be sought.
• When SNO cover is taken, Damage Cover still stands, however customers also have the option of purchasing MAX cover or AER cover to reduce any accident damages excess (Refer to Insurance and Other Coverages section)
• The cost of SNO Cover is AUD$22.00 per day (includes GST) and is to be applied to the rental.

VICTORIA - Falls Creek, Mount Hotham, Mount Bulla, Mount Baw Baw, Lake Mountain, Mount Beauty, Mount Buffalo, Pinacle Valley.

Winter motoring in New Zealand

To ensure your safe winter holiday and help you enjoy the snow, snow chains, ski racks and snowboard racks are available for an additional charge.

Snow chains

Snow chains are available on all vehicles throughout New Zealand. 2 hours advance reservation is required for South Island rentals and 72 hours advance reservation is required for reservations collected from the North Island.

Snow chains charges:

- NZD$13.50 including GST per day or a maximum NZD $94.50 including GST

- A deposit (refundable bond) of NZD$33.00 is also required

Ski and Snowboard racks

Ski and Snowboard racks are available on all vehicles except Economy and Luxury 8 seater groups.

Ski racks charges:

- NZD$13.50 including GST per day or a maximum NZD$94.50 including GST

- A deposit (refundable bond) of NZD$33.00 is also required

- Available throughout New Zealand 

- 2 hours advance reservation is required for South Island rentals and 72 hours advance reservation is required for reservations collected from the North Island

Snowboard racks charges:

- NZD$13.50 including GST per day or a maximum NZD$94.50 including GST
